We understand that the recent changes to our child and family services may raise questions or concerns for families. The information below answers some of the most common questions to help provide clarity and reassurance.
We understand how important it is for you to find the right support for your child. Support for your child will now be coordinated through your local Neurodiversity Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
In Southampton the MDT contact information is: SCCNeurodiversityTeam@southampton.gov.uk
In Portsmouth the MDT contact information is: Neurodiversity0-19Enquiries@portsmouthcc.gov.uk
Contact number: 02392 606051
In Hampshire the MDT is currently being set up and information will be available on our website in due course
There are also other services available across the county. You can find a directory of services on our website at https://autismhampshire.org.uk/local-autism-direct...
Autism Hampshire will no longer be able to offer appointments to support families as the funding for this service has ceased. We understand this may be disappointing, but suggest contacting your local Neurodiversity Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to discuss support options or by visiting our Local Autism Directory online.
If you are unhappy about this decision, you can contact your local authority or the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board.
Autism Hampshire will not be able to offer appointments or workshops past the 1st April 2026.
We will be able to offer support until 31st March. Any workshops or appointments booked up until this date will be kept. Workshops and appointments will not be scheduled past 1st April 2026.
For many years, Autism Hampshire has worked in partnership with CAMHS and the ICB to provide pre- and post-diagnostic support to children, young people and their families across Hampshire. We are very grateful for the positive relationships built over the past nine years and for the opportunity to support families at, what can often be, a challenging time.
We have received incredible feedback from the families who have used our service but unfortunately, due to the reallocation of funding by the ICB, and ceasing of a contractual service with CAMHS, Autism Hampshire are no longer able to provide the previously commissioned child and family support offer, such as parent and school workshops, post-diagnosis meetings and ongoing face-to-face support.
A new neurodivergent support pathway has been developed and is being implemented by the Local Authority, in partnership with system partners, to ensure children, young people, families, and schools can access appropriate advice, guidance, and support pre- and post-diagnosis.
This decision was made by Autism Hampshire following the reallocation of funding by the ICB. Unfortunately, we do not have other funds available to continue delivering this service at this time.
The service has been valuable to many families. We have received incredible feedback from families who have had appointments with our team, attended our workshops and called our information and advice line.
We continue to look for ways to secure additional funding so that we can support families. We hope to be able to offer wider family support in the future.
The reallocation of funding has meant that this service has ceased. All support will now be coordinated by your local Neurodiversity Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).

Autism Hampshire continues to provide community services and regulated services to adults. As part of our wider support offer, the Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) service for adults remains unchanged. We are currently updating our website to include dedicated resources and helpful links for families.
We will share updates on our website and social media channels as soon as more information becomes available about the continuation of our IAG service for families.
