Thank you for joining us to support Autism Acceptance Week 2025
We welcomed this year's Autism Acceptance Week, which took place from Monday 31st March to Sunday 6th April 2025!
This year, we focused on promoting and encouraging genuine acceptance and understanding of being autistic, challenging misconceptions, and celebrating neurodiversity in a way that emphasised positive change in local communities.
See below for more details on how people got involved, supported our work, and helped create a more inclusive world for autistic people, including:

Autism through lived experiences
Every autistic person’s journey is unique. For Autism Acceptance Week, we heard directly from autistic individuals as they shared their personal experiences. These powerful stories offered insight into the diverse experiences of autistic people.
Gary Robertson is a Serendipity Community Group member who was diagnosed with autism at 53. Through music and community, he’s found a way to express his experiences and the importance of acceptance. You can view Gary's full video and his song here.
Sarah Clarkhas recently joined Autism Hampshire’s Oliver McGowan training team and has a passion for making healthcare accessible for everyone. Sarah only started considering she may be autistic during a recent MSc course and was diagnosed aged 37. You can view Sarah's full write up here.
Thought you knew autism? People put their knowledge to the test!
As part of Autism Acceptance Week, our Information, Advice and Guidance team created a quick quiz to challenge common myths and misconceptions about autism.
From sensory needs to social interaction, this quiz helped participants separate fact from fiction and deepen their understanding.
Our training team produced a special video tackling your most pressing questions and common myths about autism.
Thanks to all the people who sent in their questions.
The final video can still be viewed here on our YouTube channel and was shared across our social media platforms during Autism Acceptance Week. We opened up the conversation and promoted real understanding!
On World Autism Awareness Day, we asked everyone to wear purple! Whether they were in the office, at school, or anywhere – people wore purple to show their support for autism acceptance. Some even made it a fundraiser and asked everyone to donate £1!
To get whole offices, schools or clubs involved, we shared a downloadable poster and encouraged people to scan the QR code to donate. Donations were also made via our Enthuse campaign page.
We invited everyone to join us for our Art Auction & Exhibition during Autism Acceptance Week 2025.
Guests enjoyed an inspiring evening showcasing incredible artwork donated by talented local artists. The exhibition featured a wide range of pieces, with the opportunity to place bids via eBay. All proceeds went towards improving the lives of autistic people across Hampshire.
An online catalogue was available via the event page here for people to explore the artwork and prepare their bids.
