Employee of the month: Maxine

Having worked with Avenues Group for over a decade, we are proud to share that this month’s Employee of the Month is Maxine Gibson.

Maxine, interim Head of Community Services, started her Avenues journey as an Assistant Service Manager in a residential service, before progressing to Service Manager.

Maxine said: "I walked into an Avenues Service 11 years ago now. Little did I know that working for this charity, would become such a huge part of my life.

“When I left school, my first job was working in hairdressers. To be honest, I got nothing out of it. Making the move into social care has opened my eyes to the world in so many ways.

“In my role as Head of Community Services, I have been able to fully embrace the merger with Autism Hampshire and am enjoying playing a part in ensuring we are in a position to continue to provide more services to more people with autism in Hampshire and hopefully one day beyond!”

Maxine's personal and professional connection to autism and neurodiversity is reflected in the nominations she received in being awarded Employee of the Month.

One of her nominees said: "Max has tailored her approach to meet individual needs, showing great empathy and awareness of the diverse needs of our workforce and stakeholders."

Another added: "Max has been very supportive, working tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of our services."

We’re proud to have Max leading the charge in our community services, and we’re grateful for her incredible contributions.
