Employee of the month: Sophie

Known for her unwavering positive attitude, July’s Employee of the Month has been named as Sophie Palmer, Autism Hampshire’s Serendipity Groups Coordinator.

As part of the Avenues Group’s award scheme, which celebrates the exceptional support and individual achievements of staff, Sophie was nominated for representing the value of ‘Pride: The work we do is something we want to tell others we are part of.’

One colleague, in their nomination, said: “Sophie’s dedication and positivity have truly shone over the past few months. She seamlessly stepped in to cover vacancies and annual leave within the Serendipity team, accepting the extra challenge without hesitation. Her commitment and ability to manage these changes have been nothing short of brilliant.”

They continued: “Throughout all this, Sophie has remained consistently cheerful and positive. Her enthusiasm for her work and infectious optimism have boosted team morale. Sophie is truly deserving of this award.”

After hearing the news, Sophie said: “I just honestly am so grateful to be a part of this charity and I am able to support autistic adults in the community.

“Over the last year and half I have been supporting and expanding our community groups, it has been a pure joy to see friendships made, personal development growth and goals achieved.”
