Following the recent Care Quality Commission assessment of East Hampshire DCA, the service has been rated Requires Improvement overall.

Autism Hampshire recognises the rating awarded and is taking the findings seriously. A focused action plan is in place to address the areas identified by CQC and to strengthen local oversight, recording and assurance arrangements within the service.

We are pleased that CQC continued to rate the service as Good for Caring and Effective, and that inspectors recognised positive practice in how staff support people with kindness, dignity and respect.

Where matters relate to the building or wider environment, Autism Hampshire is actively supporting people and working with the landlord to ensure that identified issues are addressed appropriately. We have shared our action plan and provided commissioners with assurance on the immediate steps taken and the ongoing senior oversight arrangements.

Our priority remains to provide safe, respectful and person-centred support. We will continue to work with people, families, staff, commissioners, the landlord and CQC to ensure improvements are made and sustained.
