Two sisters from Hampshire have raised more than £1,200 for Autism Hampshire after completing a night-time climb of Mount Snowdon in honour of their young sons.

Krystal and Suzie, who are both mothers to autistic boys, took on the challenge to raise awareness and support for families like theirs.

Their sons, Reggie and Brody, were both diagnosed at the age of two and share a close bond as cousins.

“These boys are amazing and fill our hearts with joy every day, said Krystal Joy, from Ringwood. “However, we also see the challenges they face daily - not being able to communicate, not having a school place or even just not being able to go to the park when it’s too busy.

“As cousins these boys have an amazing bond and as sisters we are so thankful we have each other to do this journey of motherhood together.

“In honour of them, we decided to challenge ourselves and climb Mount Snowdon at night. This was for a charity close to our hearts, Autism Hampshire.”

When Krystal’s son was diagnosed, Autism Hampshire was recommended to them as a source for support for future.

After completing the climb, Krystal said: “We had a great time. It's hard for us to get away together as sisters so it was lovely spending time together and doing the challenge for a good cause.”

The money raised will go towards supporting autistic people in Hampshire through Autism Hampshire's existing services including autism-focused training, community groups, supported living, and a free Information, Advice and Guidance service.
