Special Care Dentistry is concerned with providing and enabling the delivery of oral care for people with an impairment or disability. This may be physical, sensory, mental, medical, emotional or social. Parents can self-refer their children to this service on condition that they meet the criteria.
Special Care Dentistry offers:
A full range of NHS treatment
- Treatment based on prevention
- Access to wheelchair recliners, hoists
- Trained and experienced staff
- Treatment provided under: local anaesthetic, sedation (inhalation, oral, intranasal, intravenous), general anaesthetic at Southampton, Winchester, Poswillo and Basingstoke
